How to change the Synaptics touchpad settings (MultiFinger Gestures, Scrolling, Tapping, Buttons, Edge Swipes, ...) in Windows 8:

Note: This document only applies to computers which are equipped with a Synaptics touchpad!

  1. Press Windows key + X, click Control Panel.

  2. Click Hardware and Sound, then click Mouse.

  3. Click the tab for Device Settings, then click on the button Settings.

  4. A new windows will be opened. Click the corresponding settings which you would like to change.

    When you click on a item, you can open a help window with details by clicking the question mark

    Some items can only be enabled or disabled. For those items check or uncheck the check boxes.

    Other items (for example in this case the Touchpad sensitivity) can be adjusted. Click on the gear wheels to open the advanced settings.

  5. To save your settings click Apply and OK.
