How to install a clean Windows 10 without a product key after a sucessfully Windows upgrade

When performing a Windows 10 clean installation, Toshiba cannot guarantee a successful operating system activation nor is responsible for this clean installation. Note, Toshiba is only supporting an upgrade to Windows 10. For further information, please refer to "Information about upgrading to Windows 10" under item 2. Toshiba recommend to create a operating system recovery before performing any of the below steps.

  1. First of all you have to upgrade your Toshiba Windows 7 or 8.1 installation to Windows 10. It is mandatory to do the upgrade first.

  2. Activate your Windows 10 upgrade installation now. For this activation, no product key is required. If you do not successfully activate your Windows 10 upgrade installation at this step, you do not have the possibility to activate your Windows 10 clean installation afterwards.

  3. Next, create the correct Windows 10 installation media (USB, DVD or Blu-ray) with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool depending on the factory installed operating system. It is very important to select the proper Windows version. For details please refer to the below chart:

  4. After creating the Windows 10 installation media, shutdown the target PC and boot from the installation media (via USB or ODD).

  5. During the installation you will be prompted two times to input a product key. Please click "skip" on the following screen:

  6. Click "Do this later" on the second screen where you will be asked to enter the product key to proceed:

  7.  After installation, connect to the internet and activate your Windows 10 clean installation.
