Issue:

The products of the Equium-, Satellite-/-Pro U400 and Portege M800 series may not power on or not recognize nor charge the battery out of the box or after a long time without AC Power.

The units won't power on battery
The operating system will display a "battery not available" error
The battery LED starts blinking after approximately 10 minutes

The BIOS must be updated to V3.0 or higher.

The BIOS must be updated to V3.0 or higher.

After updating the Bios it may take several minutes until the battery is recognized and is charging.
