    Issue:

After plugging off  the AC adapter from the notebook, the Wireless LAN adapter losts the wireless connection and stops working.

    Summary:

Disable the power save function for the Wireless LAN card, which allows the computer to turn off the device in power save mode and install the latest driver for your Wireless LAN card.

    Resolution:

If your Wireless LAN card stops working, after plugging off the AC adapter, you can turn off the function, that the computer is not able to turn off the device in the power save mode anymore.

Before you change the settings, Toshiba recommends to visit http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan where you should download and install the latest driver for your wireless LAN card.

To change this power setting, follow the instructions below (i.e. Broadcom Wireless LAN module):

  1. Click on "Start"

  2. Enter "Device Manager" into the Searchbox

  3. Select "Device Manager" from the result view and click on it

  4. The device manager will open. Click on "Network adapters" and select your Wireless LAN card
    (i.e. Broadcom...)

  5. Right click on the Wireless LAN Adapter and click on "Properties"

  6. The Properties Window for your Adapter will open

  7. Change to the "Power Management" Tab

  8. Deactivate the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" function

  9. Click "OK"

Now your Adapter should work again without the AC Adapter plugged in.
